- KENYA KIAMBU EAAGADS PB Origin: Kenya Region: Kiambu Altitude: 1400 – 1600 MASL Farm: Eaagads Variety: PEABERRY: Acaia, K7, Ruiru 11, SL28 Process: Washed Process Eaagads Estate is a coffee farm owned by Eaagads Company Limited (a company that is listed in the Nairobi Stock Exchange). The farm lies in Ngoingwa location, Karibaribi sub-location, Thika west sub-county at Kiambu County. The Estate was originally established by Catholic Missionaries and was held by colonial settlers well into the 20th century. Although the limited company was founded very early (in the 1940s), the farm has gone through organisational changes. In the 1950s, it was split into three separate farms, all bordered by the Chania river to their north, with different titles being commuted to different shareholders. Due to this, today the coffee plantations on the Estate bears the strange feature of being split into two parts, as the middle farm (at some point owned by the Kenyatta family – or that of the first Kenyan president!) was converted out of coffee.
CD - THE BELFAST SESSIONS
This, our latest collection of songs, was recorded at RedBox Studios in Belfast. We’ve wanted to record there for awhile now and finally the timing was right for all. Dónal O’Connor one of the owners, produced it with expertise, poise, patience and not a few threats, the main one being “no more Guinness till youse get this track right.” Inspirational words indeed! He was somehow able to corral us and steer us in the right direction on each song. I’m sure he’d love to work with us again – maybe! We had a great time all together recording there, and hopefully dear fans you’ll enjoy listening. In these uncertain times remember, music hath charms to soothe a savage breast. I think that was a quote from Paul McCartney, or possibly Bob Dylan. Enjoy!
