- For students ages 11 to high school, Accelerated Piano Adventures offers an individualized, student-centered path to learn. Its wide and varied curriculum gives the older beginner, who is adept at learning from school and often has some music experience, the chance to traverse the basics quickly. With these faster results, teachers can offer a highly personalized approach, offering unique rewards for the accelerated student. For teachers, the art of teaching is seen as a wholistic process using the ACE triangle— analyze, create, express. This musical learning theory primes the student’s intellect, engages and sparks imagination, and nurtures a love of music at each level. As you explore the levels, you’ll see the seeds of the Faber ACE Philosophy that fosters student-centered learning. In Accelerated Book 1, a systematic reading strategy presents Grand Staff reading with classical composer themes, world folk tunes, and Faber originals. Students learn I and V7 chords and Technique Secrets for smooth, coordinated playing. Discovery and Creative activities promote analysis, creativity, and expression. Accelerated Book 2 expands musical understanding with one-octave major scales, primary chords, connected pedaling, and more. Analysis, creativity, and expression are a compass for deeper understanding. Classical sounds continue with themes by Beethoven, Chopin, Offenbach, Dvořák, and others. World folk tunes offer variety and understanding of harmony and transposition.CONTENTBOOK 1A Merry MarchALLEGROALOUETTEBackpackingBoogie in 3rdsCarousel MelodyClock Tower Bells (theme and variation)FOR HE'S A JOLLY GOOD FELLOWGREENSLEEVESHorse and SleighLa CinquantaineMarch of the English GuardMr. McGillPainting with PastelsParty TimeREVEILLESIMPLE GIFTSSQUARE DANCEShowboatSnake DanceStrike Up the Band! The Handbell ChoirThe San Francisco TrolleyThe Spanish GuitarTheme by Mozart (from Sonata in A Major, K. 331)MINIATURE SONATINA BOOK 2African CelebrationClub JazzDown by the RiversideEverybody Ought to KnowGallop on the MoorGerman DanceHoliday FanfareMysterious CavernNiagara Falls‘O Sole Mio!Pale Moon SerenadePeppermint Rag Prelude in F Prince of Denmark’s March Ride of Paul Revere The Snow Castle “Surprise” Symphony Theme Tambourin The Time Machine Waltz in D Major. CD - THE BELFAST SESSIONS
This, our latest collection of songs, was recorded at RedBox Studios in Belfast. We’ve wanted to record there for awhile now and finally the timing was right for all. Dónal O’Connor one of the owners, produced it with expertise, poise, patience and not a few threats, the main one being “no more Guinness till youse get this track right.” Inspirational words indeed! He was somehow able to corral us and steer us in the right direction on each song. I’m sure he’d love to work with us again – maybe! We had a great time all together recording there, and hopefully dear fans you’ll enjoy listening. In these uncertain times remember, music hath charms to soothe a savage breast. I think that was a quote from Paul McCartney, or possibly Bob Dylan. Enjoy!
